Srinagar, Mar 7: Police today said it have arrested a drug peddler at Jawahar Tunnel and recovered poppy straw from his possession in southern Kashmir.
A police spokesman said police during at check-point intercepted a truck bearing registration number PB358-9169 at command post Jawahar Tunnel. On checking of the vehicle police recovered a kilogram of poppy straw, he said.
“Driver of the vehicle identified as Bajan Singh son of Santosh Singh a resident of Pathankote, Punjab has been arrested and further investigation has been taken up,” the police spokesman added.
