POONCH, Sept 6: The Excise team from Poonch led by Inspector Mohd Arif under the supervision of ETO Rajouri- Poonch Range, Virinder Singh Pawar nabbed a drug peddler and recovered some heroin from his possession.
Official sources said that Excise team during naka near Army Cantonment area intercepted one person who was coming from link road Shiv Khori. He was signaled to stop, however, he tried to evade checking party but stopped.
During his search 2.26 gms of heroin like substance was recovered from his possession. He had some injections filled with heroin like substance. He was identified as Mohd Majid, son of Akbar Din, a resident of Ward No. 1 Mohallah Qazi Morha, Poonch. He was booked under section 08/21 of NDPS Act and further investigation is going on under Report number 35/ESRP-K in this regard. The operation was carried out under the direction of Excise Commissioner, Rajesh Kumar Shavan and close supervision of Amarjeet Singh, Deputy Commissioner Excise (Executive) Jammu.
