RAJOURI, Jan 18: A drug -peddler escaped from police custody when he was brought to the Police Station here this afternoon.
Identified as Manzoor Hussain, son of Noor Hussain, resident of Dhanore Jalala in Rajouri, he was nabbed by SOG men during naka in Rajouri town along with some charas and 50 capsules of toxic nature. He was removed to Rajouri Police Station were he was handed over to an Investigating Officer (IO), an ASI rank police personal for questioning.
The accused requested the IO to go for natural call to the toilet and slipped away from there. The SHO Chaman Gorkha who arrived from outside after some time, rushed police teams to different locations to trace the drug-peddler, but he could be not traced till late this evening.
