JAMMU, Aug 16: Canal Road police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a drug peddler and recovered 2.50 kilograms of ganja from his possession.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Canal Road Police Post laid a naka near Bhagwati Nagar and intercepted a pedestrian.
During checking, police recovered 2.50 kilograms of cannabis from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Raju Chandran, a resident of Chattisgarh.
A case under FIR Number 93/18 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Nowabad Police Station and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
Police team led by Incharge Canal Road Police Post SI Sohan Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Nowabad Inspector Naresh Bhagat, SDPO West Pranav Mahajan, Incharge SP City GL Sharma and SSP Vivek Gupta.
