Drug peddler arrested with 1 kg cannabis

RAMBAN, Feb 3: Banihal police has arrested a drug peddler and recovered 1 kilogram of cannabis from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Banihal Police Station laid a naka near Railway Station and intercepted a pedestrian, who was coming from Railway Station link road towards Banihal town.
During checking, police team recovered 1 kilograms of cannabis from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Muzamil Hussain Shah, son of Nizar Ahmed Shah of Khordhara Tehsil Rajouri.
During preliminary investigation, it came to fore that the accused has bought the consignment from valley side to sell it among the youth of Banihal and Jammu viz their surrounding areas.
A case under FIR Number 13/2020 under section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Banihal and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Banihal Inspector Abid Bukhari made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Sajad Sarwar, Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Anita Sharma.
