UDHAMPUR, Jan 23: Police arrested an inter-district drug peddler in Phalata area of Rehambal and recovered 10.5 grams of heroin from his posession.
Police team of Police Station Rehambal, while performing routine naka checking at Phalata, intercepted a taxi bearing Registration No. JK01BC-0140 coming from Jammu towards Srinagar.
During checking, one person identified as Shahid Mushtaq, son of Mushtaq Ahmed of Kammarwari, Tehsil Bemina, District Srinagar was found travelling in the said vehicle. On his personal search, 10.50 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession, following which he was taken into custody.
Accordingly, FIR No. 15/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Rehambal and further investigation is in progress.
