JAMMU, Feb 16: Janipur police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a drug peddler and recovered heroin from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Station Janipur laid a naka and intercepted a car bearing registration number JK03C-9339.
During checking, police recovered 3 grams heroin worth Rs 30000 from the possession of the driver and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Ajaz, son of Khurshid Ahmad, a resident of district Poonch, at present Kot Bhalwal.
A case under FIR Number 14/18 has been registered at Janipur Police Station and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
Police team led by SHO Janipur SI Bimal Indu made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Jammy Raj Paul Singh, SP City Dr Vinod Kumar and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
