JAMMU, Apr 10: Bahu Fort police arrested a drug peddler along with large quantity of banned syrup bottles.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Bahu Fort police station laid a naka near Narwal and intercepted a person carrying bags.
During checking, police recovered 600 bottles of banned syrup and arrested the drug peddlers on the spot.
The accused has been identified as Kamal Singh, son of Karan Singh, a resident of Gandhi Nagar.
He had brought the consignment of banned syrup bottles from neighbouring States and was about to deliver the same to his associates, but police foiled his nefarious designs.
A case under FIR Number 63/16 under section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Bahu Fort police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Bahu Fort police station Inspector Kuldeep Khajuria and assisted by Incharge Narwal police post SI Mehmood Khan made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO East Chandan Kohli and SP South Shaazad Salaria.
