KATRA, Oct 28: Police apprehended a narcotics smuggler from Stadium Road Katra and recovered heroin-like substance from his possession.
During routine patrolling last evening, a team of Police Station Katra noticed a suspicious person coming from Balni towards Katra. On frisking, 2.010 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession. The accused identified himself as Harish Thakur of Sukalghati, Tehsil Bhomag, District Reasi and presently residing at Railway Road, Katra.
In this regard, case FIR No. 290/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra. The accused was arrested and further investigation has been set into motion to identify the source of the contraband and the network involved.
