Drug peddler arrested

UDHAMPUR, Sept 12: Police arrested a drug peddler in Rehambal area and recovered 2.79 grams of heroin like substance from his possession.
During patrolling, a team from Police Station Rehambal, led by SHO, Inspector Parshotam Kumar apprehended the accused who was roaming in a suspicious manner.
Upon search, a transparent polypack containing 2.79 grams of heroin-like narcotic substance was recovered from his possession following which he was arrested on the spot.
The arrested accused has been identified as Vivek Chaudhary, son of Raj Kumar Chaudhary, resident of Rehambal, District Udhampur.
In this connection, a case FIR number 138/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rehambal and further investigation is underway.
