UDHAMPUR, Feb 12: Police arrested a Kashmir based drug peddler and recovered heroin like substance from his possession, here today.
Reports said that a team of Police Station Udhampur, led by SHO Raghubir Singh, intercepted a Tempo Traveller bearing registration number JK14C-6636, which was coming from Jammu towards Kashmir valley.
During frisking, Police team recovered 5.65 grams of heroin like substance from a passenger in the vehicle, who was immediately taken into custody. The accused identified himself as Bilal Ahmed Naikoo, son of Ali Mohd Naikoo, resident of Tikan, Batpora, Pulwama.
In this connection, a case FIR number 51/2025 under sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur and further investigation has been initiated to ascertain forward and backward linkages.
