Drug peddler, 2 bovines smugglers arrested

JAMMU, Nov 1: Nagrota police arrested a drug peddler and two bovine smugglers.
As per police sources, a team from Nagrota Police Station intercepted a tanker near TCP Nagrota.
During checking, 6 kilograms of poppy straw was recovered from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who has been identified as Rashpal Sharma, son of Satpal Sharma, a resident of Tehsil RS Pura.
Meanwhile, a team from Nagrota Police Station rescued 17 bovine animals from a truck and arrested two smugglers, who have been identified as Mohammad Raft, son of Mohammad Sharief of District Reasi and Farman Ali, son of Haji Abdul Ghani of Belicharana Jammu.
Cases under relevant sections have been registered at Nagrota Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Deepak Pathania made the arrests under the supervision of Mohan Lal Sharma SDPO Nagrota and Dushyant Sharma SP Rural Jammu.
