JAMMU, May 21: A mega awareness event on drug abuse was held at Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS) Satwari under the supervision of Principal Vandana Gupta. The event was graced by Dr. Amrita Kotwal (NTPHC Chatha), Medical Officer Deepika Kapoor (Social Welfare Department) and social worker and ex-corporator Bharat Bhushan.
The programme began with the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by a powerful speech by Principal Vandana Gupta. A welcome address was delivered by Puja Abrol. Cultural presentations including Saraswati Vandana, poems, skits and speeches by students and teachers raised awareness about the menace of drug abuse. A short film on the issue was also screened.
Zonal Incharge Cultural Cell, Satwari, Alka Sharma coordinated the event and recited her poem on drug abuse, which was highly appreciated. The event was organized by Puja Abrol and Poonam Vaid. Rashda Akhter gave the vote of thanks, while Muskan Rajput and Muskan Bhau conducted the proceedings. A pledge against drug abuse concluded the event.
