KATRA, May 29: Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Vivek Kumar, flanked by Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal, today inspected Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Railway Station and directed immediate removal of deficiencies prevailing in terms of passenger facilities at the station.
The DRM conducted a thorough inspection of the circulating area, railway platform, lift, escalator, ticket window, passenger waiting rooms etc at Katra railway station and gave instructions to remove the deficiencies prevailing there and keep a constant watch on passenger facilities.
During the inspection at the station, the Divisional Railway Manager laid special emphasis on cleanliness and also inspected the catering units located at the station and strictly warned their operators not to sell expired food items. He also checked the water ATMs and public taps or water taps available at the station.
Meanwhile, Jammu Division of Northern Railway today launched a safety bulletin book that will prove to be valuable for the employees of the operating department during work.
DRM, Jammu Vivek Kumar along with Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal and Senior Divisional Safety Officer Ashok Salaria launched the safety bulletin along with hand manual for proper technique of load securing and stabling.
The safety bulletin contains instructions on topics such as fire incident in train, train separation, working of train on receipt of shock, precautions to be taken during handing over of charge or takeover, dispatching of train from non running line, action to be taken on detection of hot axle, reception of train on obstructed line, duties of various categories of staff and precautions and techniques to be taken by field staff during load stabilization and securing at wayside stations.
The safety bulletin also contains a QR code in which all the latest JPOs, safety circulars and amendment slips have been compiled at one place for easy access of the staff, read the handout.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal, who is looking after the operations of Jammu Division informed that these documents are planned to be distributed to all in the field and will prove to be very useful for Station Masters, pointsmen and shunting staff.
