RAMBAN, Sept 26: A driver was killed when the truck he was driving skidded off the road and plunged into gorge at Battery Chashma area on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
As per police sources, a truck bearing registration number JK09-4377 was on its way to Srinagar from Jammu, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it landed into gorge near Battery Chashma area, resulting into on the spot death of the driver.
On getting information, police team rushed to the spot and started operation to retrieve the body of the deceased from the gorge.
After hectic efforts, police team with the help of locals retrieved the body from the gorge and shifted it to District Hosptial Ramban.
The deceased has been identified as Ravinder Singh, son of Jarnail Singh, a resident of Dooru, Qazigund District Anantnag.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Ramban Police Station and investigation started.
