Driver dies as excavation machine rolls down

UDHAMPUR, Dec 19: Driver of an earth excavating machine died when the machine rolled down into a deep gorge at Battal Ballian on the National Highway Udhampur.
According to the reports, the excavation machine of Wullar Cements Pvt Ltd rolled down when driver lost control over it at Battal Ballian Factory Morh, late last night.
Locals rushed to the spot and took the injured driver to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors declared him as brought dead.
The deceased was identified as Ram Lal (45), son of Gian Chand, resident of village Jard in Udhampur.
After the accident and the death of the driver, locals of Battal Ballian protested against owners of Wullar Cements Pvt Ltd and demand immediate compensation to the family of the deceased.
After getting the information about this incident, SHO Udhampur, Raghuvir Singh rushed to the spot and pacified the protester by assuring that Wullar Cements Pvt Ltd would provide immediate compensation.
