KATHUA, Mar12: Lakhanpur police has arrested driver and cleaner of a video coach bus for carrying passengers across from Lakahnpur into J&K by ignoring the COVID SOPs.
Police said that an information was received through the reliable sources regarding the facilitation to illegal entry by two unknown persons at Lakhanpur check point into the JK UT.
Acting on this, police team of Police Station, Lakhanpur succeeded in arresting two persons namely Shakeel Ahmed, son of Haleem of Kyala district, Reasi and his accomplice Altaf Hussain, son of Manzoor Ahmed of Sabziyan tehsil Mandi district Poonch having bus bearing registration number, JK02CN-8649 which was also seized.
SHO Lakhanpur, Arvind Sambyal said that after sustained questioning, both confessed that they had been involved in making people cross illegally from outside into J&K UT without following the SOPs of COVID-19 Pandemic and were collecting money from this.
In this connection, a case vide FIR No. 40/2021 U/S 188/IPC has been registered in the concerned Police Station and further investigation has been geared up.
