DRI busts a factory involve in production of Narcotics at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Chhatrapati

SAMBHAJINAGAR, Oct 22: After the drug case that is spreading across the state, raids have also been conducted in Paithan Industrial Estate in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district , Cocaine, Mephedrone and Ketamine, three types of drugs worth more than Rs 250 crores have been seized by Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI)Ahmedabad Zonal Unit and Crime Branch, Ahmedabad Police.

According to the DRI  official press release issued on today stated that,the DRI launched raid on Friday and arrested two accused last evening after completing their raids.

Two persons were detained by the DRI team .One of them attempted suicide and has been admitted to a private hospital.   While Sandeep Shankar Kamawat has been arrested and he has been ordered to be kept in police custody till October 23 by the First Class Magistrate(JMFC)  of Paithan on today.     CIDCO Police Inspector Geeta Bagwade informed that a letter was sent by Vishal Sangwan, an officer of the DRI from Pune, about keeping Kamawat in the custody of CIDCO police station.

As part of the investigation into a crime in Gujarat, the Central Revenue Intelligence Agency (DRI) in Ahmedabad, its crime branch and a team of the DRI department in Pune have entered the city from October 20 for this operation.

The drug manufacturing company is located in an industrial estate in Paithan.  Mephadrone and Ketamine have been found in the raids conducted at Mahalakshmi Industries there.

23 kg of cocaine, 2.9 kg of mephadrone and Rs.30 lakh in cash were found from the premises of the house of the accused.

Meanwhile, 4.5 kg and 4.3 kg of Mephadrone and Ketamine were found in Mahalakshmi Industries of Paithan.

Apart from this, 9.3 kg of drug containing Mephadrone mixture has been seized.  The value of seized narcotics is more than Rs 250 crores, statement added.

It is said that the threads of this case can reach the international level. (UNI)
