Dr Wanchoo visits University of Cambridge

JAMMU, June 14: Dr Sunil Kumar Wanchoo, Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics in SMVDU and Indian Principal Investigator in the research project “Earthquake Hazard Evaluation in Jammu and Kashmir Himalaya and Western Indo-Gangetic Plains”,  recently visited to Bullard Labs, University of Cambridge, UK, in connection with academic visit as part of this project.
During the visit, progress was reviewed and future plans were finalized as per mandate of the project, which is funded by UGC-United Kingdom India Education Research Initiative Thematic Partnership Scheme, jointly with University of Cambridge, UK and IISERK.
The work that is being undertaken as a part of this project, is mainly aimed at understanding the crustal and upper mantle structure of J&K Himalaya Broadband seismological field experiment.
During his visit, Dr Wanchoo also went to USA to attend and present a paper during the 7th Learning International Networks Consortium (LINC) Conference  and performance workshop at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Cambridge, USA.
