Dr Tandon nominated as Expert at CDSCO

JAMMU, Nov 13: Prof. Dr Vishal R Tandon of Government Medical College Jammu has been nominated from J&K as national expert member in the panel of eight experts in Subject Expert Committee (SEC) constituted by Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO), Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
CDSCO is National Drug Regulatory Authority of India which regulates safety, efficacy and quality of drugs, medical devices and cosmetics under Drugs & Cosmetics Act 1940 & Rules 1945 as well as regulates New Drugs & Clinical Trials Rules, 2019 in the country.
Prof. Tandon, as national expert member of SEC along with other seven members nominated from various specialties of premier institutions of the country will be playing a role at national level under rule 100 of New Drugs & Clinical Trials Rules, 2019 with approval of the Ministry, to evaluate and advise Drug Controller General (India) on proposals of various categories of applications for approval of new drugs, investigational new drugs, cellular biology based drug products/stem cell derived products and new medical devices including causality analysis, safety of drugs or any other technical matters which requires expert advice.
