JAMMU, Dec 17: Dr. Shashi Sudan Sharma, who is already acting as incharge Principal Government Medical college, Jammu has been appointed as Principal GMC Jammu with a retrospective effect from 01.04.2021.
The order by the Government comes as an acknowledgment of the services of Dr Sharma who is also a Microbiologist of great repute and acting Head of the Department of Microbiology GMC Jammu towards her contributions throughout the ongoing pandemic and it’s intense manifestations that have been witnessed by the world so far.
The strength of the lady and her intentions of selfless services to the society surfaced when while holding the dual responsibilities of being the then Principal GMC Kathua and the Head Department of Microbiology GMC Jammu, she decided to dedicate herself in a whole hearted manner to her contributions towards the emergent pandemic and sacriced all her administrative powers as Principal GMC Kathua.
These were her intense involvement in her role and her unbreakable spirits that kept the menace of pandemic much under control in Jammu division during both the waves when the virus was showing its true faces to the rest of the nation and the world. Her contributions have timely been recognized and acknowledged by the Government including this time when the fact is intensely realized that her leadership has much role to play in an anticipated third wave.
She is the Principal Govt Ayurvedic College Akhnoor and the President Paramedical Council for last more than one year besides a researcher.
