Dr Salim bags prestigious NAMS Fellowship

Srinagar, Nov 9: Dr. S. Muhammad Salim Khan, Professor and Head, Department of Community Medicine at Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar, has been conferred with the prestigious Fellow of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (FAMS) award.
The fellowship was presented during the convocation of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS) held in conjunction with its 65th Annual Conference (NAMSCON 2025) at PGIMER, Chandigarh, on November 8, 2025.
The ceremony was presided over by Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh, Governor of Haryana.
According to a handout issued here, Dr. Khan was elected as a Fellow of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (India) for 2025 in recognition of his academic excellence and professional achievements.
He was earlier elected as a member of NAMS a decade ago.
Dr. Khan is the second NAMS Fellow from GMC Srinagar – the first being Prof. Syed Naseer Ahmad Shah, former Principal and Dean of the institution, who received the FAMS distinction in 1979.
