JAMMU, June 21: Renowned orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Ranjit Singh has once again excelled with his ‘Zero Error’ technique and using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and has successfully performed joint replacement surgery on a 85-year-old patient with unique set of challenges.
Blaram Singh, 85, from Abohar, had undergone bypass surgery and was living with a thyroid tumour, kidney disease and liver disease and required bilateral knee replacement surgery.
Despite the complexities, Dr. Singh’s expertise and the AI-powered ‘Zero Error’ technique proved to be a game-changer.
The surgery, performed at Livasa Hospital in Amritsar, was a resounding success, with the patient recovering faster than expected.
A handout stated that patients with multiple health conditions, like Blaram Singh, pose significant challenges for surgeons. The presence of comorbidities such as diabetes, hypertension and heart disease can increase the risk of complications during and after surgery. However, Dr. Singh’s experience and expertise in handling such complex cases have earned him a reputation as one of the leading orthopaedic surgeons in the region.
