Dr Rakesh Banal elected president of Jammu Psychiatric Society

JAMMU, Mar 16: Dr Rakesh Banal has been elected as president of the Jammu Psychiatric Society (JKPS), affiliated with the Indian Psychiatric Society.
Dr Rajesh Chandel has been elected as Vice-president, Dr Nikhil Gupta as General Secretary and Dr Akhil Menia as Treasurer while Dr Preeti Kour and Dr Roopika Jandial have been elected as Joint Secretaries
The elections were held during JKPS General Body Meeting, graced by esteemed senior psychiatrists, including Dr U K Mehta, Dr Jagdish Raj Thappa, Dr Manu Arora (HoD, Psychiatric Diseases Hospital, GMC, Jammu), and Dr Abhishek Chowhan (Asstt Prof, Psychiatric Diseases Hospital, GMC, Jammu).
The elections for new executive body were held under the patronage of Dr U K Mehta and Dr Jagdish Raj Thapa. The Jammu Psychiatric Society members reaffirmed their commitment to advancing mental health initiatives, with a dedicated focus on combating sleep disorders and addressing the growing challenges in Jammu.
