JAMMU, Dec 19 : MLA Bishnah, Dr. Rajeev Kumar Bhagat today inaugurated a series of significant development projects totaling Rs 40 lakh in his constituency. The initiative, which span across several villages, focus on two critical pillars of rural development: the stabilization of the power supply and the improvement of local sanitation through upgraded drainage systems.
Dr. Rajeev inaugurated the upgradation of four electric transformers to ensure consistent voltage and minimize power outages for residents. The electrical infrastructure works include: Upgradation of two transformers at Village Nandpur, one at Village Bahadurpur and one at Village Joian.
In addition to the power sector, the MLA inaugurated a vital lane and drain project at village Kotla, aimed at improving the hygiene and connectivity of the internal village roads.
Following the inaugurations, a grand function was held at village Kotla, where hundreds of locals gathered to welcome the MLA. Addressing the spirited crowd, Dr. Rajeev Kumar Bhagat reiterated his unwavering commitment to grassroots development. “Our priority is to ensure that basic amenities like electricity, clean water, and proper roads reach every household in Bishnah. These projects worth Rs 40 lac are a testament to our resolve to bridge the gap between rural and urban infrastructure,” Dr. Rajeev stated.
Prominent among those present were Girdhar Gopal, Mandal Pardhan Arnia, Raj Choudhary, former Sarpanch; Kuldeep Raj, former Sarpanch, Rattan Lal, retired ZEO and Lambardar; Arjun Singh, social worker, Ramesh Saini, former Chairman Arnia Municipality, Supinder Sharma, general secretary, Arnia; Sonu Pant, Parbhari, Naresh Kumar, State vice president, Mahasha Biradari, Capt. (retd) Bodh Raj, Capt. (retd) Sukhdev Raj, and Hav. (retd) Puran Chand. Others present included Sham Lal and Girdhari Lal (Booth presidents), Suresh Kumar Billa, Ravail Choudhary, and social workers Madan Lal, Vipan Bhagat, and Lal Chand Bhagat. The local residents expressed deep gratitude to the MLA for his proactive approach in addressing the developmental needs of the region.
