Dr Raina delivers lecture in diabetes management

JAMMU, Dec 11: Dr T R Raina, Administrator, Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission Charitable Hospital, Jammu and former Professor/Head Transfusion Medicine, Government Medical College, Jammu delivered an invited Guest Lecture on ” Role of Life Style Modifications in the Management of Diabetes Mellitus & Cardiovascular Diseases ” during a capacity building workshop & training programme  on Role ,Scope ,Practice and Evidence based use of Yoga in Prevention & Control of Non -communicable Diseases (NCDs) in  India held at Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga  (MDNIY)  in New Delhi.
The workshop was organised by World Health Organization (WHO) in collaboration with Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga which has been designated as WHO Collaborating Centre for Traditional Medicine (Yoga).
The workshop was basically aimed to train the Master Trainers who shall carry on the same activity in their locality or organization or concerned State and shall act as Brand Ambassadors for propagating the role of yoga in Non-communicable diseases in India. The participants included 50 MBBS & BAMS doctors from across the country.
Dr Raina was instrumental in setting up an Advanced Yoga Centre in Government Medical College Jammu.
