JAMMU, Aug 30: Dr T. R. Raina former Professor and Head Transfusion Medicine Government. Medical College Jammu attended the 41st National Conference of Indian Society of Blood Transfusion & Immunohaematology (Transcon 2016) organised by ISBTI Maharashtra State Chapter in collaboration with DU Medical College Bharati Vidyapeeth at Pune.
The conference was attended by more than 800 delegates from across the country which included experts in the field of Transfusion Medicine, staff members from Blood Banks, Voluntary Blood Donors, Donor Motivators, Camp Organizers, Blood Users and faculty members of Medical College Bharati Vidyapeeth Pune.
The vision of ISBTI is that “The Safe Blood should be waiting for the Patients … not the Patients should be waiting for the Safe Blood” and the mission is to achieve 100% Voluntary Blood Donation in the country. The scientific programme was so designed that it covered all the aspects of Blood Transfusion right from the blood donor’s vein to the patient’s vein, Dr Raina said.
Dr Raina as Secretary General of the National Governing Body of ISBTI got conducted the governing body meeting and AGM of ISBTI during the conference. He also gave a Power Point Presentation on “Role of Yoga in Voluntary Blood Donation”.
