JAMMU, Dec 18: Dr Rachna Sabharwal, Professor and Head of the Department of Biochemistry at Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu today was conferred the prestigious Dr A S Saini Oration Award.
The award was presented to her in recognition of her outstanding research contributions and academic achievements in the field of Medical Biochemistry.
The honour was bestowed upon her during the 32nd Annual National Conference of the Association of Medical Biochemists of India (AMBICON 2025), held at PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Coimbatore.
The award is one of the most coveted national recognitions in medical biochemistry, awarded to distinguished academicians for excellence in research, teaching and leadership.
In another significant professional milestone, Dr Sabharwal was also been appointed as the Official Representative of the Association of Medical Biochemists of India (AMBI) to the National Medical Commission (NMC).
She will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the teaching standards, professional practice and academic progress of Medical Biochemistry at undergraduate, postgraduate and superspeciality levels across medical institutions in the country.
Dr Rachna Sabharwal’s achievements have brought national recognition to Government Medical College Jammu and stand as a testament to her commitment to academic excellence, research and medical education reform.
