JAMMU, Nov 9: Dr Prashansa Sharma of Jammu has been conferred with the prestigious National Charaka Award 2025 for Excellence in Periodontics by the Indian Dental Association (IDA) in collaboration with Prevest DenPro Ltd.
The award recognizes Dr Prashansa’s outstanding contributions to the field of Periodontology, her innovative clinical practices, and her unwavering dedication to dental education and patient welfare.
The felicitation ceremony, held at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai, was graced by Gustavo Gonzalez, Honorary Consul General of Chile, who attended as the chief guest.
The award was presented by Atul Modi (CMD, Prevest DenPro Ltd), Dr Ashok Dhoble (Honorary Secretary General, IDA), Dr Deepak Makhijani (Chairman, Charaka Awards), and Dr Shubhra Nandy (President, IDA).
One of the youngest recipients of this national distinction, Dr Prashansa Sharma, daughter of Dr Ashok Sharma (Retd Director Health Jammu) and Savita Sharma (Retd Principal Education Dept Jammu), currently serves as an Associate Professor at ITS Dental College, Ghaziabad. “This honour is a reflection of the collective efforts of my mentors, colleagues, students and family who all have extensively supported me throughout my journey. It reinforces my commitment to advancing periodontal health and education in India,” she said.
