JAMMU, June 3: Dr Raj Nehru has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), taking on responsibilities for three strategic departments: Future Department, Higher Education and Youth Empowerment & Entrepreneurship.
His inclusion raises the number of OSDs in the CMO to two, alongside Vivek Kalia. Known as the founding Vice Chancellor of Shri Vishwakarma Skill University, Dr Nehru pioneered India’s dual skill education model, which is now being replicated across several states.
Given his expertise in skill development, the Haryana Government has tasked him with aligning higher education with employment-focused outcomes and empowering the youth through entrepreneurship. His leadership is expected to bolster the State’s long-term vision via the Future Department, designed as a strategic think-tank addressing global trends, technological disruption, climate change and economic resilience.
With a background that bridges governance, education and industry, Dr Nehru is expected to drive innovation, policy integration, and proactive governance, helping shape Haryana into a future-ready state under Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s vision.
