JAMMU, Feb 6: Dr Rohit Lahori, the In-charge of Pain Medicine at Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu and National treasurer of the Indian Society for Study of Pain (ISSP), delivered a lecture and video presentation at the 40th Annual Conference of the Indian Society for Study of Pain (ISSPCON 2026) held in Hyderabad.
The presentation focused on vertebroplasty, a cutting-edge, minimally invasive surgical procedure designed to treat acute spinal fractures, often caused by osteoporosis or spinal metastasis of cancer. During his technical session, Dr Lahori presented a comprehensive video demonstration detailing the precision required in vertebroplasty.
The procedure involves injecting a medical-grade bone cement into a fractured vertebra to stabilize the spine and provide immediate pain relief, allowing patients to regain early mobility. Vertebroplasty reduces hospital stays and recovery time compared to conventional methods.
As a National treasurer of the ISSP, Dr Lahori continues to be a pivotal figure in shaping the landscape of pain medicine in India.
