JAMMU, Sept 12: Dr Navneet Kaur, an eminent Indian social reformer and Vice Chairperson of the All India Sustainable Development Council (AISDC), delivered a powerful address at the Conference on Global Peace Talks held at the United Nations (UN) Headquarters in Geneva.
The conference, which brought together diplomats, peace builders, social and community leaders from over 60 nations, focused on strengthening inclusive peacekeeping and promoting sustainable global security.
Representing India, Dr Kaur’s speech powerfully reaffirmed the nation’s steadfast commitment to gender equality and the vital role women play as reformers and advocates in global peace and security efforts. She emphasized collaborative strategies to increase the impact of women peacekeepers in future missions.
“India is on the side of peace and will remain firmly there,” stated Dr Kaur. Drawing from her personal experience hailing from J&K, she added, “Having borne the brunt of cross-border terrorism for decades, India firmly advocates a ‘zero-tolerance’ approach and would advocate peace across the countries to end terrorism.”
On the sidelines of the conference, Dr Navneet Kaur met with Itonde Kakoma, President & CEO of Interpeace, to discuss avenues for future collaboration.
