Dr Jitendra holds Diabetes camp at Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, Jan 23: As a part of the ongoing public awareness drive launched by renowned Diabetologist, National Professor of Diabetes and Chairman National Scientific Committee(RSSDI), Dr Jitendra Singh to spread diabetes education among the masses living in peripheral and remote areas an awareness cum detection camp was held here today at which a large number of people got their blood tests done free of cost and were provided free consultation by a team of medical specialists led by Dr Jitendra Singh. Free medicine was also distributed.
The camp was organised by Diabetes Care Foundation (DCF), a registered NGO, in collaboration with a team of prominent citizens of Udhampur led by Pawan Gupta, former Vice President, BJP.
Dr Jitendra Singh said that with rapid urbanization of rural areas ,there is an upsurge of non-communicable diseases like diabetes ,high blood pressure and heart attack even in small towns and villages which earlier were said to enjoy natural immunity against such disorders because of their traditional natural eating habits and high level of physical activity.
Dr Jitendra Singh was assisted by Dr Sandeep Dhar, Dr Pankaj Gupta and youth activist Varun Malhotra. Also present were several local activists including Raj Kumar Bucha, Rakesh Gupta, Sumer Khajuria, Anil Arora, Jeevan Sharma (Sarpanch), Raj Mohd Chandel (Sarpanch), Kulshettar Singh, Sushant Gupta, Maan Singh and Ashok Dogra. Om Prakash and Rummy assisted in blood tests.
