Dr Jitendra distributes free text books, uniforms among school children

KATRA, Sept 28: Union Minister in PMO with independent charge of North Eastern States, Dr Jitendra Singh today distributed free text books and school bags to over 500 local children at a function here today organized by Bhagwat Sewa Parivar Ludhiana.
The Union Minister offered insurance cover to all of them from his personnel resource. He announced that the school fee of these children will also be borne by the Sanstha members.
Complimenting Rajan Kapoor and his team which had organised the function, Dr Singh said purely on the basis of faith Mr Kapoor and his team has been organizing the free langers for Swami Amarnathji pilgrims and Machail Mata pilgrims for last 23 years in the State.
He said if Government can’t encourage these voluntary organizations who have devoted themselves for the service of mankind this means that it was shirking its responsibility.
He said on the one hand PM Modi is appealing NRIs to invest in India and on the other hand those who are ready to serve the people without demanding returns are being discouraged in this State. On the occasion Kanya Poojan was also performed by Dr Singh. A jagran of Mata was also held by the bhajan singers from Ludhiana. Chanchal Ji and party with their melodious voice mesmerized the gathering by singing the bhajans of Mata Vaishno Devi.

Various delegations of the people met the Union Minister complaining about inadequate maintenance of roads in the Katra township and he informed them that since the matter pertains to State Government, he will take up the issue with concerned authorities.
He, while emphasizing the importance of constant superior maintenance of these roads considering the fact that the Katra is not only a national destination but it is one of the most international destinations in India visited by pilgrims all over the world.
Both Dr Singh, Mr Nanda and former BJP vice president and a social activist Rajesh Gupta were honoured on the occasion by the organizers of the programme.
