JAMMU, May 5: Dr. Farooq Abdullah’s continued insensitivity towards the displaced community of Kashmiri Pandits is causing widespread pain and anguish within the wide spectrum of KP diaspora.
Former MLC and JK UT spokesperson of BJP Girdhari Lal Raina has cautioned people against continuous efforts by National Conference (NC) and its senior leadership to polarise polity for narrow political booty without caring about its effects on the displaced community.
Instead of speaking about the Congress party’s manifesto proposing wealth redistribution after carrying out a socio-economic census, the NC president is attempting to spread bitterness against the Government of India and Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. The PM uncovered the hidden agenda of the INDI Alliance by speaking publicly about ill intentions of Congress party including its leaders like Sam Pitroda and its allies.
Dr. Farooq Abdullah is explaining the meaning of Mangal Sutra to his all Muslim, Kashmiri speaking audience and likens it to ‘Dejhor’ of Kashmiri Hindu married women. He adds that only older and Buzurg people will remember seeing this. Younger people may have never seen it”. Why he stopped short of telling his audience about reasons for disappearance of Kashmiri Pandits from Kashmir including his role in that process, asks G L Raina. That would have helped youngsters in the audience to know what happened in 1989-90.
“ Why he is not promising minorities of Kashmir guaranteed rights in the same manner as INDI Alliance and Congress is pledging to minorities, particularly Muslims in rest of the country, Raina added.
He reminded people of J&K anti-people, anti-minority and anti-KP policies and actions of NC and its leadership. He recalled how even the dead of the community were denied the respect by NC Government which did not care to mention their brutal killings in the condolence resolution adopted by the Legislative Assembly of J&K in October 1996 headed by Farooq Abdullah himself.
Dr. Abdullah uses every available opportunity to malign the Kashmiri Pandits by either shifting blame to the former Governor or the victim community itself.
He asked Dr Abdullah to make his stand clear on terrorism and radicalism that rejects co-existence. Raina cautioned people against leaders and political parties communalising situation by their utterances and actions.
