Jammu, Dec 19: Dr. Mohan Lal Dogra, a multi-faceted personality in the field of performing art and education has been honoured with the prestigious ” Vishawa Ratan Samman-2024″ by the Founder Worthy Wellness Foundation (NGO), recognized by Govt. of India, Ministry of Corporate Affairs. The award was given for Dr. Dogra’s contribution in this field as a Director of Folk Music & Dance.
Dr. Dogra has set benchmark for the promotion of folk music and dance dramas, also known as musical plays. His exceptional work and dedication have earned him various prestigious awards, making him a true legendary icon in the world of performing art. Dr. Dogra’s enthusiasm and dedication in promoting India’s rich folk dances and folk songs culture have been evident in his numerous accomplishments, including the authorship of high-selling books, the creation of original Dogri songs, and the financial support he provides to hundreds of artists under his mentorship.
Dr. Dogra’s experience in the Directorate of Field Publicity and Song and Drama Division, Ministry of Information and broadcasting, Government of India has enabled him to promote the traditional culture of Jammu and Kashmir, light and sound performances in national festivals like Kumbh Melas, Haridwar, Allahabad, Ladakh Festivals and Sadbhavna Samarohs and Autumn Festivals Navratra Festivals in various states of India “Dogra’s main theatre productions are Maa Sheran Wali, Raja Mandlik, Kathoti Main Ganga, Ram Charit Manas, Bhasmasur, Doli, Rang Dari Deo in Dogri / Kamauni and Hindustani theatre style are well recognized by many reputed organsations.
He has created over three dozen dance drama spectacles based on health and eradication of social evils which represent the ethos, aspirations of the society and started a weekend two shows called Saturday musical Play and Friday Music Concerts based on Health and to get rid of menance of drug abuse which are uploaded on social media frequently.
