Dr Deepak Abrol elected president North Zone AROI

JAMMU, Oct 20: Leading Oncologist from Jammu, Dr Deepak Abrol, has been elected as President of the North Zone Association of Radiation Oncologists of India (AROI).
The election took place during the 28th annual conference of AROI, held at Medanta Hospital, Gurugram.
Dr Abrol, currently serving as Senior Consultant in Radiation Oncology at the American Oncology Institute, ASCOMS Jammu, has previously held several key positions in AROI, including Coordinator, Executive Member, General Secretary, and Vice President.
He was elected President in a recently concluded election, alongside other notable appointments.
Dr Muninder Negi from AIIMS Bilaspur was elected as Senior Vice President, Dr Kanika Sood from Dharamshila NH New Delhi as Junior Vice President, Dr Jaskaran Sethi from Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute as Editor-in-Chief, and Dr Pradeep Garg from BFUHS Faridkot as General Secretary.
Dr Abhishek Shankar from AIIMS Delhi and Dr Vipul from Himalayan Institute Dehradun were nominated as Joint Secretaries.
The election results were declared by Election Commissioner Dr Harpreet Singh from Oswal Hospital Ludhiana.
Dr Abrol expressed his commitment to enhancing academic engagement, particularly by involving residents and postgraduates in high-level research.
The North Zone AROI, which encompasses Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, New Delhi, NCR, Chandigarh, and Uttarakhand, is the largest chapter of the national AROI.
Senior Oncologists, including Dr Manoj Gupta, former Dean AIIMS Rishikesh, and Dr Rajesh Vashistha, Associate Director Max Bhatinda, extended their support to the newly elected team and wished them a successful tenure.
