JAMMU, Sept 7: Chairperson of the Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, today visited the revered shrine of Jinab Sahib Soura and paid obeisance. She also inspected the ongoing developmental works at the complex, including the construction of the New Grand Mosque.
The mega project, launched a few months ago, is progressing with several allied works being executed simultaneously. The Engineering Team briefed the Waqf Chairperson about the status of the project and ongoing arrangements. Dr Andrabi directed the team to increase working shifts to ensure timely completion of the mosque and associated facilities.
Interacting with the media during her visit, Dr Andrabi asserted that the Waqf Board is committed to the development and beautification of religious centres across Jammu and Kashmir. “Nothing can stop us from the good work being carried out with dedication. Transparency and accountability in the Waqf system, coupled with unprecedented developmental initiatives, may have rattled some, but the overwhelming majority of people are supportive, which gives us strength to carry forward our mission,” she said.
She further assured that all ongoing works at Jinab Sahib Soura would be completed in the near future. Dr Andrabi also reviewed the preparations for devotees expected to throng the shrine complex during the month-long Milad celebrations.
