KATHUA, June 10: MLA Kathua, Dr Bharat Bhushan today inaugurated a new branch of Punjab National Bank (PNB) at the Industrial Infrastructure Development (IID) Centre in Kathua.
The event was attended by PNB Zonal Manager Amritabh Anand, Regional Head Anil Sharma, General Manager Industries Mushtaq Choudhary, former MC Lakhanpur President Ravinder Sharma, and members of the Industries Association including Piyush Rastogi and Vikrant Verma.
Former Sarpanch Dilawar Singh, former Naib Sarpanch Captain Pawan Sharma, officials from SIDCO and SICOP, and local residents were also present on the ocassion.
Addressing the gathering, PNB Zonal Manager, Amritabh Anand highlighted various services offered by the bank, adding that PNB is the second-largest public sector bank in the country.
Regional Head of the bank, Anil Sharma informed that ATM services would be launched at the branch in the coming days.
Dr Bharat Bhushan congratulated the bank for opening its 83rd branch in the Jammu region and said the new branch would benefit industrialists as well as residents of Dilwan, Mehtabpur, Hatli, and nearby areas that previously lacked banking facilities.
He also urged the bank to consider opening a branch in Khokhyal village, known as the “Vegetable Bowl” of Kathua, which still lacks both a bank and an ATM despite a population of around 10,000.
