JAMMU, Feb 24: MLA Dr Rajeev Bhagat today kick-started a series of 33 developmental projects worth Rs 109 lakh in Bishnah constituency. These works, executed primarily under the Rural Development Department and R&B Division, target critical infrastructure gaps in several Panchayats including Deoli, Laswara, Makhanpur, Salehar Upper, and Salehar Lower.
Out of the total allocation, Rs 104 lakh has been dedicated to a wide range of works aimed at improving the daily lives of residents. These projects include construction of modern drains and sanitation works to improve hygiene, development of lanes and essential culverts, construction of community sheds and the much-needed renovation of the Panchayat Ghar.
In addition to these works, Dr Bhagat also kick-started the macadamization of the link road from the house of Harbans Singh to the house of Prem Singh, located opposite Gurudwara Deoli Tibba. This specific road project is estimated at Rs 5.00 lakh, ensuring smoother transit for the local residents.
Dr Bhagat was accompanied by officials from the Block Development Office Bishnah and the Engineering wing of the R&B Sub Division Bishnah. He issued strict instructions to the technical teams to ensure that all works adhere to high-quality standards and are completed within the stipulated timeframe. “Providing basic amenities like better roads and sanitation at the doorstep of every citizen is our top priority,” Dr Bhagat remarked while addressing the gathering.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from local leaders and senior citizens. Prominent among those present were Abhishek Jamwal (mandal pardhan Bishnah rural), Arjun Singh (general secretary Bishnah rural) Davinder Singh, Padam Dev Singh and Nanak Chand (former Sarpanches), Rinka Charak, Bodh Raj, Mohinder Kumar, Kaka Singh, Gurbachan Singh and Ravinder Singh Charak.
