Dr Banarsi gets Young Scientist Award

JAMMU, Jan 25: Dr Banarsi Lal, Incharge, Senior Scientist-cum-Head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of  Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Jammu (SKUAST-J) has been honoured with  Young Scientist Award by the Society of Krishi Vigyan at the national level conference held at  Bhuvneshawar in Odisha.
The conference was held on “Improving Income of Farmers through Agriculture and Aquaculture through Development Interventions”  at the ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Bhubaneswar.
The award was conferred to the budding scientist by the Society of  Krishi Vigyan  on the basis of his outstanding research in the field of agriculture and for his endeavours  for the welfare of the farming community. Dr Banarsi, a gold medalist and alumni from Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has developed an innovative Mathematical Communication Model which is very handy to assess the communication behaviour of the farmers. He has written more than 450 publications as research papers in national and international journals.
