JAMMU, Jan 4: During an event jointly organised by Study World College of Engineering, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu in association with Institute for Social Reforms and Higher Education and International Association of Research and Development Organisation, Chief Scientist & Head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of SKUAST-J, Dr. Banarsi Lal, was conferred the prestigious ‘Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Award-2025’ in recognition of his meritorious achievements and contributions in the agricultural extension and research fields.
The research committee considered Dr. Lal for the prestigious award on the basis of his profile comprising the research papers published in reputed national and international journals.
Dr. Banarsi is an alumnus of Banaras Hindu University and has developed Mathematical Communication Model which is an innovative model to assess the communication behaviour of farmers and has been recognized at national and international level.
Dr. Lal hails from Kathua and has been working at KVK Reasi for more than 18 years.
He has written more than 700 publications as research papers in national and international journals, technical bulletins, leaflets, folders etc.
