Dr Anila honoured at Bhubaneshwar event

JAMMU, Nov 24: Dr Anila Singh Charak, renowned poet, gazalkar and satirist from Jammu and Kashmir, was honoured at the 4th Parichay National Literary Festival held in Bhubaneswar.
The event took place at the Guru Kelucharan Mahapatra Auditorium of the Orissa Research Centre, where she was presented a memento and a ceremonial shawl. The festival brought together writers from diverse linguistic backgrounds, showcasing how literature transcends boundaries even when languages differ.
Representing J&K, Dr Anila captivated the audience with her Hindi poetry recital. She has earned numerous national and international accolades, including the State Sahitya Akademi Award. She is widely recognized as the only writer from her region extensively contributing to the genre of satire, with several published works in both satire and poetry.
Beyond literature, she has excelled in painting and photography, with her artwork displayed globally. She has also written Dogri humorous plays, performed in radio dramas, and represented the country in national-level cricket.
She previously served as Principal at AEES (DAE), Mumbai and received multiple honours in education, including the Homi Bhabha Award for Best Principal.
