JAMMU, Dec 27: Government today included Dr M Angamuthu (Chairman, APEDA New Delhi) as a member in the Union Territory Level Apex Committee (UTLAC) constituted earlier for framing a comprehensive Agriculture policy for holistic development of Agriculture and allied sectors in Jammu and Kashmir.
As per the Government Order issued today, the UTLAC shall have five additional goals and targets for next five years. These goals included increasing agricultural exports from 190 crores to 3000 crores from J&K, diversifying export base and increasing high value and value added agricultural exports, promoting ‘Brand JK’ for its uniqueness and quality, promoting novel ethnic, traditional, organic and non-traditional agricultural products and enabling as well as empowering farmers for export opportunities.
