SRINAGAR, Apr 2: Chairperson of the Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, today participated in the Zool Festival (Festival of Lights) held at the revered shrine of Sakhi Zainuddin Reshi (RA) at Aishmuqam in Pahalgam, marking the eve of the Annual Urs of the saint.
The centuries-old Zool festival, observed as a significant and auspicious tradition, witnessed the participation of thousands of devotees. Dr Andrabi joined the gathering, paid obeisance at the shrine, and offered prayers for peace, harmony and prosperity for all.
Addressing the devotees on the occasion, she highlighted the spiritual significance of the festival, stating that light symbolizes purity and devotion, dispelling the darkness of the soul. She emphasized the need to preserve and continue such meaningful traditions with dignity and collective fervour, while extending her greetings to the people on the occasion of Urs Mubarak.
She was accompanied by Executive Magistrate of the Board Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin, Administrator Ashiq Ahmad, Executive Engineer Qazi Mushtaq, Assistant Executive Engineers Syed Murtaza and Aamir Ahmad, along with noted social activists Arshad Bhat, Rehmat Bhat, Javed Ahmad, Sofi Sajad and Tassaduq Ahmad.
