SRINAGAR, Jan 18: Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board today organised a grand felicitation ceremony at Srinagar in which Chairperson of the Board Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi honoured thirty toppers from Waqf Board run schools from Kashmir division in the recently declared tenth and twelfth class students of JKBOSE.
Waqf Chairperson was accompanied by the Member of the Board Syed Mohammad Hussain and the Executive Magistrate Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin. The function was attended by the Principals and Administrators of educational institutions. The development report of the educational department in the Board was presented on the occasion.
Dr Darakhshan Andrabi presented mementos and Certificates of Honour to the toppers. Later in her address she said that this extraordinary performance in the Board exams by the Waqf schools is the result of broader reforms of the Board in educational sector during the past three years.
“We have worked very hard to create a positive environment in our educational institutions by reforms and infrastructural development and accountability mechanisms. Our teachers, management and students have worked hard and we are proud of them”, said Andrabi.
She said that Waqf Board was the first organisation to implement National Education Policy in educational institutions. “The reforms resulted in increase of admissions in all schools during the past three years. From financial bankruptcy to stability, our schools became centres of excellence and we are committed to upgrade these institutions further in future”, said Dr Darakhshan.
