JAMMU, June 16: Displaced persons from Pak occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) organised a protest rally in support of their demands here today.
A large number of displaced persons from PoJK, under the banner of  PoK DPs’ Front Jammu & Kashmir- 1947, 65,71 and non camp, assembled near Press Club and started protest demonstration under the leadership of Capt Yudhvir Singh Chib, president of the organization.
A large number of women activists were also accompanying the protest. The DPs were raising slogans and carrying banners and placards depicting their demands. They demanded one time permanent settlement of their pending demands. They also alleged that the package as projected by Congress led UPA for refugees was just another attempt to befool them and secure vote bank. But they can not be befooled all the time.
They also welcomed new BJP Prime Minister (designate) Narendra Modi and said that they have high hopes from Modi Government. They also expressed happiness  over the victory of BJP candidates from Jammu-Poonch and Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seats. They hoped that both the MPs would strongly project their demands in the Lok Sabha.
Besides comprehensive package, they also demanded ownership rights for DPs of 1947, 65, 71 (Non Camp), ALC certificate for all the DPs, registration of left out families and reservation for the children of DPs in colleges/ jobs. They also demanded formation of Development Board for them. Capt Yudhvir, Kulbir Singh Chib, Sakandhya Devi, R S Chib and Hari Singh also spoke on the occasion.
