UDHAMPUR, Aug 23: Monthly meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teachers/Masters Association (JKTMA) was held here today under the chairmanship of State President Rakesh Singh and State General Secretary Vivek Gupta to discuss the issues of teachers, particularly the DPC of Teachers/Masters.
The meet strongly urged the Principal Secretary School Education, B K Singh said to conduct DPC of Teachers/Masters on fast track basis within one month without any further delay as stagnation in this cadre has lowered the morale of teaching community and adversely affected the studies of Govt schools students.
While referring to the old issue of FIR against higher officials of that time who previously conducted the DPC of fake degree holders in cadres of Masters and Lecturers, Rakesh Singh demanded that strict action should be initiated against the official who violated the natural law of justice by providing undue benefit to fake degree holders by stealing the right of genuine degree holders. He also appealed the Anti Corruption Bureau to reinvestigate the case to save the dignity and honour of genuine degree holders in the department.
“Keeping in view the Supreme Court verdict that all the Science stream degrees obtained through Distance mode are not valid for the benefit of DPC, t Govt of Jammu Kashmir has issued Govt order 252-HE and SRO 339 which states that all Distance mode Science degrees are invalid except for those who were enrolled prior to December 2005 as one time exemption. So it is the legal obligation on HRM section of School Education Department to update seniority list of PG Teachers/Masters as per this order in order to prevent litigation later on,” Singh added.
Association strongly urged to fulfill all the vacant posts of Lecturers through 100 percent DPC as one time exemption as per decision of State Administrative Council which states that more and more posts of Teachers need to be created by 100 percent DPC to adjust Grade 2 and Grade 3 Teachers on GLT posts who are at present working against Supernumerary posts.
Association also demanded to introduce new subjects in Hanging and Upgraded Higher Secondary Schools in the interest of students and teacher community and keeping in view the various provision of RTE Act and NEP 2020 which states that no post of Teachers/ Masters/ Lecturers would be left vacant.
