DoPT providing e-Office assistance to States, UTs: Dr Jitendra

NEW DELHI, Dec 27: Union minister of State (Independent Charge) Northeast, MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions,Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh said here today that DoPT (Department of Personnel & Training) is providing e-Office assistance to State and Union Territory (UT) Governments and called upon the States and UTs to expedite the process of e-Office implementation.
Speaking after the monthly review meeting of the Ministry of Personnel, Dr Jitendra Singh disclosed that DoPT is regularly holding workshops and training programmes for officials of different State and UT governments and appealed the the State and UTs to make the maximum use of this. A 3-day workshop is scheduled for to be held at Jammu from 3rd January for the benefit of the officials of the newly created UT of Jammu & Kashmir, he added.
On the progress made regarding implementation of e-office in the Central Government, Dr Jitendra Singh informed that 57 Ministries/ Departments in the govt of India have already achieved the desired target of 80% on e-Office platform, with Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying & Fisheries being the latest to have achieved complete e-Office implementation.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, 75 Central Ministries/Departments are actively using the e-Office platform, with Ministry of AYUSH being the recent Ministry to go live on the e-Office platform. The Minister appealed to the state governments to expedite the implementation of e-Office in their states. It was also informed that during the month of December, 92,352 Public Grievances were received and 1,01,745 were disposed off.
During the meeting, various issues were discussed, which included Vision Document of the Ministry, 100-day agenda of the departments, vacancy position in the departments, grievance redressal status, training programmes under National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG), status of e-Office implementation by Central Ministries/Departments, e-HRMS, web portals, dashboards, among others.
Among other activities, it was mentioned that the DARPG has organised Regional Conference on the theme ‘Improving Public Services Delivery – Role of Governments’ in collaboration with the Government of Maharashtra on 21-22 December, 2019 at Nagpur, Maharashtra. The Ministry has also launched the Good Governance Index (GGI) and the 15th edition of Central Secretariat Manual of Office Procedure (CSMOP) on Good Governance Day i.e 25th December, 2019. Besides it, the workshops and Pension Adalat to be organised in future were also discussed.
Secretary (DoPT and DARPG) Dr C. Chandramouli and senior officers of the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG) and Department of Pension and Pensioners Welfare were also present during the meeting.
