JAMMU, Sept 30: Reacting over the communal tension created by an independent MLA from Langate Engineer Rasheed in Mendhar tehsil of border district Poonch, Shafiq Mir chairman All J & K Panchayat Conference said that both BJP and PDP parties have technically given a free hand to the communal elements to create tension between the two communities so that the people forget the promises they had made with them during elections.
Expressing deep concern over ‘ beef controversy’ created by some communal political parties, Shafiq Mir said that such hate speeches and acts of some communal elements can prove dangerous for the society particularly in Jammu region of the State where both the communities are residing as next door neighbours. Mir said that he was unable to understand that how the Government allowed a person to run his beef campaign in the area which is inhabited by both the communities and which has always been sensitive.
“It indicates that Government itself wants to keep the people fighting on the religious issues so that they forget their real issues with the Government. Both the ruling parties have given free hand to some communal elements to divide the society and divert their attention from the real issues of development they had promised with them”, he said.
Cautioning the Government of the sensitivity prevailing in the entire Jammu region after the beef controversy erupted, Mir said that all the communal elements should be crushed with iron hand and no body be allowed to conduct any such activity which hurts the sentiments of other communities. He also appealed the general masses and particularly the intellectual class of the society to make the people understand that such controversies are racked by both PDP and BJP with an aim to divert the attention of the people from the real issues which they failed to resolve.
Mir, appealed the Panchayat leaders of the State to play an important role for peace in their respective areas and don’t allow any person creating communal hate between communities.
